Editorial on PanCan study

Lung cancer accounts for an estimated 1.4 million deaths per year globally. The combination of primary prevention, aimed at reducing tobacco consumption, and screening, aimed at detecting early-stage tumours offer significant opportunities to reduce the burden of this disease. Although tobacco control policies are proven and cost-effective, screening has yet to earn its place in routine care outside of the United States.
